No North American distributor has been more aggressive in acquiring Australian films in the past few years than Samuel Goldwyn Films, continuing a relationship with Australian filmmakers that stretches for more than 20 years.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired U.S. rights Sean Cisterna’s dramatic feature From the Vine for a PVOD and digital release this fall. The movie, written by Willem Wennekers, and adapted from Ken Cancellara’s novel Finding Marco, follows Mark Gentile (Joe Pantoliano), an attorney and automotive company executive, who travels to Italy after a major humiliation in business.

Craig Roberts’ “Eternal Beauty,” a romantic drama with Oscar-nominee Sally Hawkins, has sold North American rights to Samuel Goldwyn Films. The indie label will release the film on-demand this fall, an increasingly popular option at a time when many movie theaters are closed due to coronavirus.

Samuel Goldwyn Films and Shudder have co-acquired North American rights to Adam Egypt Mortimer’s Daniel Isn’t Real, a thriller from SpectreVision starring Patrick Schwarzenegger and Miles Robbins. Sasha Lane, Hannah Marks and Mary Stuart Masterson also star in the pic, which will now hit theaters and VOD later this year.
